At the Internet and telecoms cross-roads

Web2tel is a spin-off from Lucent Technologies, the telecom equipment manufacturer whose research arm, Bell Labs, originated VoiceXML. Lucent Technologies is a founder of the VoiceXML Forum. Web2tel Qualifun is a supporter member of the Forum.

Web2tel's founder, François Manchon, graduated from Ecole Supérieure d'Electricité in 1985 and from the Computer Science department at Paris University in 1986. He started his carrer with Simulog where he investigated the performance of numerous computer systems and networks. In 1996, he became a System Architect with Octel, the worldwide leader of Voice Messaging. Octel being acquired by Lucent Technologies, he contributed to the deployment of advanced services such as free phone, Virtual Private Networks (VPN) or prepaid telephony. The creation of Web2tel in 2003 builds directly on this work.
